GENERAL INFORMATION

ATM/Cash Machines
There are two Note ATMs near the west entrance of the ExCel by Costa and Panini Pronto, and another Note ATM in the center of the boulevard between entrances S6 and N6. There are a Barclays and a Note ATM located on level 0 between N4 and S4. Should the in-venue ATMs run out of cash, there is also an ATM nearby at the Tesco Express. In addition, there is a Travelex ATM by the S11 entrance on the boulevard for foreign currency exchange.
Banks & Foreign Exchange Offices
Credit Cards are accepted at most (but not all) major retailers, so it is helpful to have cash for most transactions. Banking hours are Monday through Friday, typically from 08:30 to 17:00. Larger banks may also be open on Saturdays and Sundays for a few hours in the morning. Currency exchange is also available at airports and at the ExCel.
Business Center
There is a shop on level 0 at the bottom of the stairs near N4/S4 which sells a range of stationery items and can also do photo copying and faxing. This business center also is available to exchange foreign currency.
Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of Attendance will be emailed to all attendees after the Congress.
Climate
London has a temperate oceanic climate, influenced by the high amount of precipitation it receives year-round. Summers are typically warm with frequent rainfall. The average high temperature in London in July is 72 degrees F (22 degrees C) and 55 degrees F (13 degrees C) for a low.
CME/Accreditation
An application has been submitted to the EACCME for CME accreditation of this event. CME credits will only be offered for those attending the in-person event in London.
Currency
The currency is the British Pound Sterling (£/GBP) in the United Kingdom, which comes in bills and coins.
Electricity
Electrical sockets in London operate at a standard voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. The United Kingdom the “Type G” plug. An adapter is necessary if your appliances don’t already have these types of shapes to match the socket.

Insurance and Liability
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate insurance coverage for travel, health and accidents before they depart from their countries of residence. The ISTH as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to private property belonging to the conference participants and accompanying persons.

Language
The official language of the meeting is English. There is no simultaneous translation service provided.
Local Transportation
London boasts one of the largest public transport networks in the world, with bus, road, and river systems spanning all 32 boroughs.
An easy way to explore the city and purchase bus, Tube, tram, DLR (Docklands Light Railway, London Overground, most TfL Rail, Emirates Air Line and Thames Clippers River Bus services is to visit https://tfl.gov.uk/ to learn more about the Oyster Card. The Oyster card is a smart card that allows you to pay as you go and is contact free.
The Tube: The London Underground rail network has 11 Tube lines to offer. Fare to ride the Tube will depend on the time of day, how far you are going, and how you choose to pay. Regular Tube services run from 5:00 AM until midnight with more late-night services available on the weekend. New: The Elizabeth line is now open Monday-Saturday with service directly to the ExCeL London. It does not run on Sunday Learn more.
Buses: The famous double-decker buses of London are both a cheap and convenient way to get around the city while also sightseeing. All buses are cashless, so you will need either an Oyster card, Travelcard or another form of contactless payment. Bus fare is £1.55 and a day of bus-only travel will cost a maximum of £4.65. You are able to take unlimited bus or tram rides for free within one hour beginning first journey.
Taxi: Taxicabs are readily available all over London. The minimum fare is £3.20 at all times but can fluctuate based on time of day, location, traffic, and day of year.
Rideshare: Trips are available in London, U.K. through the Uber App. We remind you to please ensure that it is your driver before getting into the vehicle.

Mobile Telephones
As a courtesy to speakers and other participants, all mobile phones and pagers must be switched off when attending sessions or symposia.
Online Disclosures
As part of the CME accreditation procedures, all speakers are obligated to provide disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. On the first slide of every presentation, these disclosures must be presented. The Speaker Ready Room can assist with drafting this slide.
Overflow
Please be advised that overflow rooms are available. Should any session be full, the overflow room will be activated and a hostess will direct you to that location.
Parent Room
The Family Room can be found by S9. Inside has two changing mats, chairs for breastfeeding, a microwave to heat up baby food and a bottle warmer. It also contains a sink and toilet.
Photo/Recording Policy
Any form of duplication (recording, audio taping, photography and/or video) of sessions is prohibited without expressed written consent of the author and congress organizer. Please do not use your mobile device to duplicate or record any sessions.
We kindly ask that attendees DO NOT photograph, record, film, or use a cellphone to capture images of presentations at any time during the meeting, as well as on the poster and exhibit floors.
Please note that you may be photographed, videotaped and/or recorded during your visit by the official ISTH 2022 photography/video team. By entering the ISTH 2022 Congress, you agree to each of the following:

Program changes will be made public via the official ISTH 2022 Congress Mobile App and the website.
Smoking
Please note that this is a non-smoking meeting. Smoking is not permitted inside or outside the meeting halls nor in the exhibition area.

Tipping
Tipping is appreciated in London, but not always appropriate. Below is a list of important tipping practices in London:
Taxis: 10%-15% for black cabs and licensed minicabs based on the final total is standard.
Restaurants: A 10%-15% tip is standard for a sit-down restaurant, whereas for a takeout or pick-up meal no tip is expected.
Room maids: £2 - £5 per night is common.
